I''m a part-time employee paid 20 hours a week and have worked the job 3 years. Should I be getting vacation pay?

Dear San Jose, California:

Under both California Wage and Labor laws, and the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA), an employer is not required to pay vacation at all. If an employer does choose to pay vacation, the employer may elect to pay vacation only to full time employees.
