If you were at "at-will" employee for this company then you can be fired for any reason or no reason so long as the basis for termination was not based on a violation of the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission
(here).If you are claiming age discrimination you need to show evidence that it was age related. If the other 4 employees who were not hired were also in the same age range as you, then it might be possible that age could have been a factor. In such case then I would encourage you to file a charge with the EEOC
here for further investigation. You are required to first file with the EEOC before you file a lawsuit. They will investigate to see if your claims are warranted. You should also speak with an employment law attorney to further represent your interests.
If the main issue for not hiring you is because there are no current positions available then this will not be considered discrimination.
