Dear Customer (name blocked for privacy),
Because the act occurred in NJ, while you were a resident of NJ, you will need to continue the case in NJ. You may, at some point, have to return to NJ to continue your action.
Discrimination is both a federal and state crime. Keep calling the EEOC. Also, the NJ Office of the Attorney General has a Civil Rights division (
http://www.state.nj.us/lps/dcr/) call them and tell them about what happened. They may be able to file a case for you and/or also refer you to other state agencies in NJ that may help you. Also, try contacting the American Civil Liberties union for help. They may be able to help you find an attorney and learn other information you can use in your case.
Find your attorney before you leave NJ, it will be easier.
PLEASE NOTE: Responses here are for information/education only, NOT legal advice and do not form attorney-client relationship! Only licensed attorneys you hire in your state can provide legal advice.
